| I finished my graduate work at Stanford in History; spent many moons in Germany, Poland, Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union; taught for 16 years at Boston University and was a fellow of the Russian Research Center at Harvard; got married in Boston and have two girls (8 and 3); and just returned to Stanford this year as Professor of East European history. | I have now been at Stanford as a faculty member for 27 years, live on campus, and pedal past the old ATO house almost every workday. I've held a number of administrative positions at Stanford: at this point, I direct an organization called Stanford Global Studies Division. My girls are grown; Sarah is married and a policy analyst, working in London; Anna is a lawyer in D.C. working with O.M.B. I was divorced, remarried, and have a young son, Ben, now 10. I go to a LOT of Little League practices and games. |

| Censored!!! | I enjoyed the exchanges about the history of the house in the early 1960s. It was very enlightening to those of us who benefited from being part of an open-minded, tolerant, and diverse group of guys. |
